VERY IMPORTANT — Notify your Neighbors!
If you know of any neighbors who don’t have email, are not on Nextdoor.com, or are likely unaware of any current crime trends in our neighborhood, please let them know of any crime alerts.
Even if you print out an email alert or Nextdoor post and put it in their mailboxes, that will help!
Help us to help you.
With the latest crime trends, many people on Nextdoor have proposed solutions such as becoming a gated community or securing private security patrols for our neighborhood.
We have formed a Neighborhood Security Committee to research the options and find solutions that will work for our neighborhood.
If you would like to be a part of that committee, please contact Armine Perian with the subject line “Neighborhood Security Committee”.
Why crime has spiked — Prop 47, AB 109, and Prop 57
The Impact of Prop 47 and AB 109 include:
Dozens of felonies are now reclassified as citable offenses.
- No jail time and we continue to release thousands from realignment.
- About 75 people are released from jail each day.
Crime is UP all over California, but despite this, our neighborhood is still safer than most.
Much of that is due to neighbors calling GPD when they see suspicious activity.
