In 2020, a wonderful Glendale community resident donated the 3.5 acre Sunshine Preserve, a natural habitat for wildlife just up the hill from Verdugo Park at the end of Sunshine Drive to the Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy (AFC), who have been working to restore the native habitat and open space.
Preserving the integrity of this habitat space and its native resources in our neighborhood has tremendous ecological value.
Starting this month, a group of neighbors called "Friends of Sunshine" will be holding monthly restoration days to steward and maintain this important preserve. If you value our neighborhood open spaces and preserving the natural California beauty we encourage you to join this group on the third Saturday of every month at 9:00 A.M.
